Dutch language and literature was my subject at the university of Amsterdam, culminating in a very small computer program and a very high stack of pages about the use of the computer for language at my graduation.
The next 13 years found me in the IT departments of large financial and commercial companies, writing and designing programs for their central computers.
As an antidote I started making classical guitars, redesigning their acoustics using a logical and scientific way of thinking. This lead to guitars with more volume and better possibilities for musical expression, that I called super concert guitars.
To meet as many guitarists as possible I visited a lot of classical guitar festivals in Europe, the US and Canada.
32 years and 135 instruments later, exactly at the retirement age, I decided to stop making guitars, only to find myself, after a couple of years, making guitars again “in my spare time”.
